Meetings at Volkshaus Jena – an inspirational venue
Jena’s prestigious Volkshaus is a venue for elegant meetings in a magnificent setting. The extensively renovated main hall is suitable for events of up to 1,000 people.
Opened in 1903, the building was designed to be a meeting place that would offer plenty of intellectual stimulation, as envisaged by its originator, Ernst Abbe. Today, visitors are captivated by the lovingly restored art nouveau elements in the main hall and the foyer.
Other parts of the building are currently undergoing extensive rejuvenation, with the adjacent wing being converted to open it up to new uses. The spacious, light and airy rooms will make an ideal setting for conferences and conventions. The additional space will provide greater scope for poster displays, seminars, workshops and get-togethers, both in the foyer and the various rooms. From 2023, the entire Volkshaus Jena, restored to its former splendour, will be available as a versatile, modern event venue.
The Volkshaus enjoys a convenient city centre location in the heart of Jena, opposite the Esplanade hotel and the Goethe Galerie shopping mall. It is also adjacent to the German Optical Museum, which is due to reopen with a new, attractive exhibition concept in 2023 following extensive renovation work.
